The Czech Philharmonic Quartet was founded in 2000 under the name Prague Philharmonic Quartet upon the initiative of members of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra - Zuzana Hájková, Jiří Poslední and Jakub Dvořák. In 2005, the ensemble changed its name and its first violin became the prominent Czech violin virtuoso Pavel Eret. The wonderful individual talents of its members and their considerable experience (each member has won Czech and international awards in chamber music) greatly contribute to the first-class chamber interpretation of the ensemble. The Czech Philharmonic Quartet performed with a great success before the English and Scottish public, following the famous Czech quartet tradition. The Czech Philharmonic Quartet regularly plays in Prague´s principal concert halls and collaborates with excellent Czech and foreign soloists, such as Kateřina Váchová, Robert Stallman, Lukáš Vondráček, Martin Kasík and others.
